Make new friends ~ Make a difference
Be part of the community and the pride movement of LGBTQ singers and their supportive allies.

We are always looking for new singers to join our family. No previous experience necessary. Even if you just enjoy singing in the shower, we encourage you to check us out. You don't even have to be able to read music! Just commit to attend rehearsals every Monday evening from September through the beginning of June and have a great time.

We rehearse from September through the beginning of June on Monday evenings from 7:30 PM until approximately 9:45 PM at:

  • You don't need to be from New Jersey. We have a members from New York and Pennsylvania as well.

  • You don't need to be gay. We welcome all of the LGBTQIA community and their allies.

  • You don't need to identify as a man to sing with us. We sing men's choral music in the sense that we sing arrangements for ensembles of tenors, baritones, and basses.

  • You don't even need to sing to join! Our non-singing "fifth section" members help usher and sell tickets and are essential to our performances.

The New Jersey Gay Men's Chorus is always looking to welcome new members into our family, and that extends beyond our singing members. If you can't sing or you choose not to make the weekly commitment needed for rehearsals, you will still be welcome with open arms. As a non-profit organization that relies heavily on the efforts of dedicated volunteers, there is always a need for people to usher, sell tickets and merchandise, and help on one of our many committess. As a Fifth Section, member of the NJGMC you would be entitled to a listing in the chorus roster and chorus programs, invitations to chorus social events and free admission to NJGMC-sponsored performances. This is another great way to make a difference and meet some terrific men and women.
